Book Description

First compiled around 1709 by Wang Hongxu, "Bushi Zhengzong" is a foundational classic of Six Lines Divination (Wen Wang Gua or the Najia Method), long regarded as essential reading for serious I Ching practitioners. It answers key beginner questions, resolves textual disputes, and blends principle and technique into a rigorous system. This edition includes interpretations of the "Golden Strategy", "Thousand Gold Ode", "Tong Xuan Fu" and "Sui Jin Fu (Fragmented Gold Ode)," core texts referenced throughout Six Lines Divination literature. In addition, it addresses eighteen fundamental questions commonly asked by beginners and provides case-based explanations to illustrate practical applications. This English edition—possibly the first—was translated by Xuan Wanyan, a Columbia University graduate from a family steeped in the I Ching tradition, making this once-esoteric system accessible to non-Chinese readers while faithfully preserving its original depth.

The complete set (Volume 1–7) contains approximately 167,000 words.
